In this play Final Solutions, Dattani deals with the problem of acrimony between Hindus and Muslims âwhich was initially caused by the partition of the country, planned and executed by the Britishers the malevolently because they had faced all along a combined struggle of Hindus and Muslims for freedom. Who can forget the Frontier Gandhi who was named so for his close cooperation with Mahatma? Britishers sowed the seeds of dissension and brought about the partition in a slovenly manner. Partition was declared without caring to see how law and order would be maintained. No government worth the name was left in either of the two countries.
